Play Bigfoot Online
NES monster truck game racing coast-to-coast: qualify top-down, then smash through side-view events. Upgrade your rig or eat dirt. 2-player chaos included.
Bigfoot came out on the NES in 1990, developed by Beam Software and published by Acclaim. It was part of that wave of licensed games trying to cash in on popular trends, in this case the monster truck craze, and it fit right in with other straightforward action titles of the era.
You control the Bigfoot truck itself, driving from a top-down perspective across a map of the United States. The main goal is to win races and crushing events in different cities to earn prize money for truck upgrades. Signature mechanics include the qualifying races, which are simple checkpoint sprints, and the side-view arena events where you perform stunts like car crushing and wheelies. The pacing is quick, but the difficulty spikes sharply if you fall behind on upgrades. It feels like a repetitive grind where success is often determined more by your truck's stats than your driving skill.
