Bikkuriman World: Gekitou Sei Senshi came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed by TOSE. It was one of those many licensed games from that era, based on a popular anime and sticker series in Japan, and it fit right in with the platform's library of side-scrolling action titles.
You control a young hero who can punch and kick through waves of enemy soldiers and strange creatures. The main goal is to advance through each stage, defeating a boss at the end. A key mechanic is the transformation system; by collecting a specific item, your character temporarily changes into a more powerful, super-deformed warrior with unique, screen-clearing attacks. The game is structured level by level, with some light platforming and a fair amount of enemy spam that keeps the pressure on.
