Game Overview
Bill Elliott's NASCAR Challenge on the Amiga is one of those early racing games that somehow still feels satisfying even with its flat-shaded polygons. You’re stuck with the in-car view—no fancy third-person angles here—but it actually makes the racing feel more intense, especially when you’re drafting behind another car and trying to slingshot past them.
There are only six tracks, but they nailed the classics like Talladega and Watkins Glen. The cars are all real brands (Pontiac, Ford, etc.), and you can tweak aerodynamics, which actually makes a difference in how they handle. The VCR-style replay system is a neat touch—kind of janky by today’s standards, but back then, rewinding your best overtakes felt like magic.
It’s not the prettiest racer out there, but if you want that raw, early '90s NASCAR vibe, this one still holds up.
