Play Bird Week (Japan) Online
In Bird Week, you control a mother bird, catching butterflies to feed your hungry chicks while racing against the clock on each single-screen stage.
Bird Week came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986, developed and published by Nintendo. It was part of that early wave of NES games, simple in concept but built around a clear, specific idea. You don't see many games like it, even from that time.
You control a mother bird tasked with feeding her three constantly chirping chicks. The main objective is to catch enough butterflies on each single-screen stage to fill their hunger meters before time runs out. Your movement is slow and deliberate; you can't simply fly freely, but must navigate from branch to branch across the tree. The challenge comes from the tight timer and the chicks' persistent demands, creating a quiet but constant pressure. It feels like a race against your own clumsiness and the clock, with a genuine sense of relief when your babies are finally full and take flight.
