Play BlaZeon (Japan) Online
Grabbing enemy ships and turning them into your own weapons feels janky at first, but once you learn which ones won’t blow up in your hands, you’re suddenly piloting a stolen battleship through waves of mecha anime knockoffs. The controls fight you a little, but that chaos is part of the charm.

BlaZeon is one of those weird, early SNES shooters that tries something different—you can actually snag enemy ships and turn them into your own weapons. At first, I thought it was just a gimmick, but figuring out which enemies are worth stealing (and which ones just explode in your face) becomes half the fun.
The Gundam references are impossible to miss if you’ve seen Char’s Counterattack—some enemy designs are straight-up homages, and the whole thing has that late '80s mecha anime vibe. The controls take a minute to get used to, and the difficulty spikes hard if you’re not careful with your stolen arsenal. Still, there’s something satisfying about bulldozing through a screen full of enemies with a hijacked battleship.
It’s not the smoothest shooter on the SNES, but it’s got personality. Just don’t expect to beat it on your first try.
