Block Kuzushi GB came out in 1995 for the Game Boy, developed by Natsume. It was one of those many puzzle-action hybrids that filled the portable's library, a familiar concept given a slight twist to stand out on the small screen.
You control a small paddle at the bottom of the screen, deflecting a ball to break blocks above. The goal is to clear each screen of blocks to advance, but many blocks behave unpredictably; some shatter on impact, others rebuild themselves if you don't break them quickly, and a few even explode. Between stages, you face boss enemies that fire projectiles you must avoid while still aiming your ball. The pacing is methodical, demanding careful angles and quick reactions to the changing block formations. It feels like a tense game of precision under pressure, where every ricochet matters.
