Game Overview

Block Kuzushi came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed by Bottom Up. It was one of those late-era SNES releases that didn't get a ton of attention, but it found its audience among players who appreciated a straightforward, polished take on a familiar genre. It sits comfortably alongside other puzzle and action titles from that period, offering a clear, focused experience without a lot of extra fluff.

You control a paddle at the bottom of the screen, deflecting a ball to break all the blocks above. The main objective is to clear each stage completely while preventing the ball from falling past your paddle. A couple of mechanics keep things interesting; certain blocks release power-ups that change your paddle, like extending its length or turning it into a laser that can shoot upwards to clear bricks directly. The pacing is methodical but can get frantic as the ball speeds up, and the difficulty curve is fair but demands consistent precision. It feels satisfying to find a rhythm and cleanly dismantle a screen, brick by brick.
