Blue Shadow (E) is a side-scrolling NES action game where you play as one of two ninjas fighting through a futuristic dystopia. The first thing you notice is how stiff the controls feel—your jumps have this weird floatiness, and landing hits requires awkwardly precise spacing.

The levels throw these robotic enemies at you in tight corridors, forcing you to rely heavily on throwing stars since melee combat feels risky. Some stages have this cool cyberpunk aesthetic with neon-lit backgrounds, but others just look like generic industrial zones.

It's one of those games where memorizing enemy patterns is key, because reaction time alone won't save you. The difficulty spikes hard around the third stage, where you start facing off against bosses with attack cycles that aren't immediately obvious.

Blue Shadow (E) has its moments, but it's held back by clunky mechanics that make progress feel more frustrating than rewarding.
