Boboboubo Boubobo: Maji de!! Shinken Battle came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by TOSE and published by Hudson Soft. You control Bobobo, a hero with a giant golden afro, as you fight through waves of enemies using his unconventional nose hair attacks. The main goal is to defeat the bald-headed forces of the Maruhage Empire to save the world, progressing through side-scrolling stages filled with bizarre enemies and environmental hazards. Signature mechanics include using your nose hair like a whip to grab and throw foes, triggering special attacks called "Fist of the Nose Hair" that rely on quick button inputs, and navigating stages that mix combat with light puzzle-solving. The pacing is fast and chaotic, with a difficulty that spikes unexpectedly in later stages. Playing it feels like being dropped into a cartoon where the rules are made up and nothing makes sense, but in a way that’s consistently entertaining.
