Play Bokosuka Wars (Japan) Online
Lead your king and build an army of knights and archers to defeat the opposing king in this quirky strategy-action mix on the NES.
Bokosuka Wars came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1984, developed and published by ASCII Corporation. It was one of those early NES titles that felt experimental, a strange mix of strategy and action that didn't look or play like much else at the time.
You control a king, moving him and a growing army of knights and archers screen by screen across a simple battlefield. The goal is to defeat the opposing king while recruiting more units from defeated enemies or friendly castles. Combat is straightforward; your forces automatically clash when they touch enemy groups, with stronger numbers usually winning. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and losing key units can quickly turn the tide against you. It feels simple, janky, and weirdly satisfying when your messy mob overpowers the enemy.
