Play Boxing Online
Dodge punches, throw jabs and hooks, and try to knock out your opponent in this classic boxing game for Game Boy.
Boxing came out for the Game Boy in 1990, developed by Tose and published by Nintendo. It was part of that early wave of portable sports games, a straightforward title you could play in short bursts between bus stops or before class. It didn't try to be a simulation; it was just you and another boxer on a tiny screen, stripped down to the essentials.
You control a single boxer, moving him around the ring to dodge punches and land your own. The main goal is to knock out your opponent or win on points before the final bell. The core mechanics are built on timing and spacing; you throw jabs with the A button and powerful hooks with B, but mistiming a punch leaves you wide open for a counter. The difficulty ramps up quickly as opponents get faster and more aggressive, turning each match into a tense back-and-forth. It feels like a careful, almost nervous dance where one wrong step costs you the round.
