Game Overview
Bubble Bobble 2 is that classic NES sequel where you're still popping bubbles—but now as Cubby or Rubby, the next-gen dragon heroes. The first few levels ease you in: you trap enemies in floating bubbles, jump to burst them, and grab the fruit that drops. Sounds simple, but then the layouts get weird—platforms move, enemies swarm, and suddenly you're frantically bouncing bubbles just to survive.
Two-player mode is where it shines, though. My brother and I kept accidentally trapping each other in bubbles mid-jump, which was either hilarious or infuriating depending on who got squished. And those bonus chains? Way harder to pull off than they look. The music’s still that same cheerful loop you’ll hum for days, for better or worse.
It’s Bubble Bobble, but with enough twists to make you relearn your old tricks.
