Bubble Bobble - Old & New on GBA is basically the perfect way to play this arcade classic. You’re still Bub or Bob, those little dinosaurs who trap enemies in bubbles—except now you’ve got two versions of the game in one. The original’s all there, pixel-for-pixel, but there’s also a remade mode with brighter colors and smoother jumps.
At first, it feels almost too simple—just hopping around, blowing bubbles—but then you realize how weirdly strategic it gets. Do you pop that bubble now, or let it float into another enemy? And those fruit power-ups? Absolute chaos when they start raining down. The co-op’s still the best part, though—nothing like accidentally trapping your friend in a bubble mid-jump and laughing about it.
Honestly, the only downside is that theme song burrowing into your brain for the next week. You’ve been warned.
