Bubble Bobble - Old & New (Venom) (E) is one of those GBA ports that feels like a time capsule. You control these little dinosaurs blowing bubbles to trap enemies, then pop them before they escape. It sounds simple, but the levels get tricky fast, especially when you're trying to chain combos for higher scores.
The first few stages ease you in with basic enemies, but soon you're dealing with multiple types at once, each with their own movement patterns. The co-op mode is where it really shines though. Trying to coordinate with a friend while the screen gets crowded leads to some chaotic, fun moments.
It's not perfect—some of the hit detection feels a little off compared to the arcade original. But if you're looking for a classic arcade-style platformer on the GBA, Bubble Bobble - Old & New (Venom) (E) still holds up surprisingly well.
