Game Overview

Caesars Palace Advance: Millennium Gold Edition is basically a pocket-sized Vegas trip for your Game Boy. You start with a stack of virtual cash and can hit the digital tables for blackjack, poker, craps—even video horse racing, which feels oddly out of place but weirdly addictive. The graphics are about what you'd expect from a GBA casino sim, but the actual card and dice mechanics are solid.

At first I just messed around with poker, but the real hook is unlocking the VIP room by building your bankroll. It's not exactly high-stakes gambling when it's fake money, but there's something satisfying about slowly working your way up from the nickel slots to the high-roller area. The horse racing minigame is bizarre but ends up being a fun way to burn chips when you're tired of counting cards.

If you ever wanted to pretend you're wasting money in Vegas during math class, this does the job surprisingly well.
