Play California Raisins - The Grape Escape (Proto1) Online
You bounce around as a clay raisin dodging oversized fruit and soda bottles, with that weirdly catchy funk soundtrack making the janky controls almost charming. It’s like playing a lost commercial from another dimension.

Game Overview
California Raisins: The Grape Escape is one of those bizarre NES prototypes that makes you wonder what the developers were thinking—in the best way possible. You play as a claymation raisin (yes, really) hopping through candy-colored levels that feel like a Saturday morning cartoon on acid. The controls are a little stiff, but there's something weirdly charming about dodging giant rolling grapes and jumping over sentient soda bottles.
The music's got this funky bassline that shouldn't work for a platformer but somehow does, and the whole thing feels like someone took Mega Man and mashed it up with a 1980s cereal commercial. It's janky, unfinished, and absolutely worth firing up just to see how strange gaming used to be. I still can't believe this almost became a real release.
