Play Captain Skyhawk (Rev A) Online
Dodging missiles through tight canyon turns in an isometric jet feels weighty and tense—just when you grab that sweet laser upgrade, enemies swarm from behind.

Captain Skyhawk came out on the NES in 1990, developed by Rare. It was part of that era where developers were really pushing the hardware, trying to mix different gameplay styles into one cartridge. This one blended top-down flying with first-person combat, which wasn't very common.
You pilot a fighter jet, the Skyhawk, across a series of missions to stop an alien invasion. Most of the game is spent in an isometric view, flying over terrain, dodging enemy fire, and bombing ground targets. Periodically, you enter a first-person tunnel sequence where you shoot incoming enemies and avoid obstacles. The pacing is relentless; you're constantly managing fuel, missiles, and your ship's integrity. Dodging missiles through tight canyon turns in an isometric jet feels weighty and tense, just when you grab that sweet laser upgrade, enemies swarm from behind.
