Castle of Illusion is one of those classic Disney platformers that just feels right. You play as Mickey, bouncing on enemies, tossing apples at weirdly aggressive toy soldiers, and dodging giant bouncing apples (seriously, who knew fruit could be so deadly?). The levels are these surreal, dreamlike worlds—one minute you're in a toy box, the next you're dodging candles in a haunted library. The music’s catchy as hell, too.
It’s not super hard, but some of the later platforming gets sneaky—like those disappearing clouds in the sky level that love to drop you mid-jump. And Mizrabel’s castle? Total nightmare fuel for a kid in the ‘90s. Still holds up if you’re into tight, colorful 16-bit platforming with that Disney charm.
