Chaos Engine 2 is one of those Amiga classics that still holds up if you're into old-school top-down shooters. You pick from a roster of mercenaries—each with their own quirks—and blast through steampunk levels packed with weird enemies and traps. The controls take a second to get used to, but once you do, it’s satisfying to mow down hordes of mechanical monstrosities while hunting for secrets.
What I love is how chaotic it gets when you play co-op. One of you might accidentally trigger a swarm of enemies while the other’s still fiddling with a puzzle switch, and suddenly it’s pure mayhem. The pixel art’s got that gritty Amiga charm, too—lots of rusted gears and eerie lighting. Just don’t expect a walk in the park; this game doesn’t go easy on you.
