Chaos World came out in 1995 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Pony Canyon. You control a party of adventurers exploring an overworld and navigating dungeons screen by screen. Your main goal is to defeat an ancient evil, which involves traveling through towns, gathering clues from NPCs, and battling monsters in turn-based combat. Key mechanics include recruiting additional party members with unique abilities and managing equipment and spells to survive increasingly difficult enemy encounters. The pacing is deliberate, with a fair amount of grinding required to progress, but the exploration and character progression keep you engaged.
