Play Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Online
Guide Charlie through Willy Wonka's factory, jump across platforms, collect golden tickets, grab candy, and avoid hazards to stay alive in this 2005 side-scrolling adventure.
I picked up Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for the Game Boy Advance back in 2005, a time when licensed games were everywhere and you never quite knew what you were getting. This one was published by Take-Two Interactive, and it's a side-scrolling platformer that feels very much of its era, built for quick sessions on the go.
You control Charlie Bucket, navigating through the bizarre rooms of Willy Wonka's factory. The main goal is to collect a certain number of golden tickets in each stage to progress, which involves a lot of jumping across platforms, grabbing candy for points, and hunting for hidden letters that spell out "CHOCOLATE" for extra lives. Your health is represented by a chocolate bar that depletes when you touch hazards like Oompa Loompas or faulty machinery; lose all your lives, and you restart the stage. The pacing is brisk, though some jumps feel a bit unforgiving, and the overall challenge is moderate but persistent. It has a certain clunky appeal that makes it memorable despite its rough edges.
