Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers 2 came out for the NES in 1993, developed and published by Capcom. It was a time when licensed platformers were common, and this one followed up on the success of the first game, sticking to the familiar side scrolling action the NES was known for.
You control either Chip or Dale, working through levels by running, jumping, and throwing objects like apples and boxes at enemies. The main goal is to stop Fat Cat, who has broken out of jail and is causing trouble again. The game uses a two player co op mode, screen by screen progression, and some light puzzle solving involving switches and item carries. It moves at a brisk pace and can get quite challenging, especially in later stages with precise platforming. Playing it feels like a cheerful, slightly frantic scramble through a world that's just a little too big for you.
