Circus Charlie is this weirdly charming NES game where you play as a little clown bouncing through circus acts—lion taming, tightrope walking, even horseback vaulting. It’s simple, sure, but there’s something oddly satisfying about nailing the timing on those jumps. The music sticks in your head, too—that jaunty circus tune feels like it’s permanently burned into my brain.

It’s definitely aimed at kids, but don’t let that fool you. Some of those later levels get surprisingly tricky, especially when the lions start lunging faster. I remember getting stuck on the trampoline section for ages because I kept overshooting. Still, it’s got that classic Konami polish—bright colors, tight controls, and just the right amount of chaos.
