Game Overview

Clik Clak came out on the Amiga in 1992, a product of the German developer Softgang. It was one of many tile-matching puzzle games from that era, a genre that was finding a solid home on home computers. The presentation was straightforward, focusing on the core mechanics without much extra flair.

You control a cursor to swap adjacent tiles on a grid, aiming to form lines of three or more identical symbols to clear them. The main objective is to keep the board from filling up as new tiles drop in from the top, with the pace steadily increasing. A two-player competitive mode lets you directly interfere with an opponent's screen by sending them extra blocks. The difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding fast decisions and spatial awareness. It feels tense and immediate, a race against the inevitable climb of the tiles.
