Game Overview
Combat Cars is that weird little Genesis racer where you're just as likely to blow someone up as you are to pass them. It's top-down, kinda like Micro Machines if Micro Machines had rocket launchers and mines scattered all over the track.
You start off picking between these boxy little cars—some handle better, others take more hits—and then it's straight into chaos. The first race I played, I spent more time dodging homing missiles than actually turning corners. There's something hilarious about watching the car in front of you suddenly flip upside down because you nailed them with a well-placed shot.
It's janky in that very '90s way, but the weapons add this layer of dumb fun that makes it stick out from other racers at the time. Just don't expect anything too deep—it's pure arcade nonsense, and that's kinda the charm.
