Crime Wave on the Amiga is this gritty, digitized side-scroller where you play as a cop blasting through sketchy neighborhoods to take down some crime syndicate. The whole thing feels like a B-movie—right down to rescuing the President’s daughter, because of course that’s the mission.
You start off in grimy back alleys, popping off thugs with your pistol while dodging their shots. The digitized sprites give it this weirdly realistic (for the time) look, like someone filmed actors and slapped them into the game. It’s janky in that classic Amiga way, but there’s something satisfying about mowing down waves of goons.
Fair warning: it’s tough. You’ll die a lot before figuring out the enemy patterns. But if you’re into old-school shooters with attitude, it’s a fun time capsule.
