Play CrossFire Online
Start blasting through jungles in a chopper, then suddenly you're sneaking on foot—rescuing hostages while dodging missiles from your own backup copter. Classic Sega chaos.

CrossFire came out for the Sega Genesis in 1991, developed by Masaya. It was one of those games that showed the system could handle fast action with a lot of moving parts on screen. You got a mix of shooting and strategy, which wasn't too common back then.
You control a soldier who alternates between piloting an attack helicopter and fighting on foot. Your main goal is to rescue POWs while destroying enemy bases across different terrains. The helicopter sections are top-down shooters where you dodge flak and missiles; the ground missions switch to a side view where you use a limited supply of grenades and a machine gun. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty spikes quickly, especially when friendly fire becomes a real concern. It feels like a constant scramble for survival where every mistake costs you.
