Okay, so Cytron is one of those Amiga games that feels like a weird mashup of Paradroid and Alien Breed, but with its own twist. You play as this little robot dropped into a research facility where everything’s gone to hell—other robots are running wild, and you’ve gotta clean up the mess while rescuing scientists. Simple enough, right?

Except controlling Cytron is like trying to stop a shopping cart on ice. The momentum’s brutal—you’ll slide past doors, bump into enemies, and generally feel like you’re wrestling with the controls at first. But the cool part? You can split into Cyt and Ron, two separate bots. Need to hit a switch on the other side of a force field? Send Cyt scampering off to flip it while Ron waits (impatiently, I imagine). It’s a neat puzzle-solving trick that keeps things interesting when the levels get cramped.

Definitely one of those games where the janky controls are part of the charm—if you can get past them. The split mechanic saves it from being just another clunky top-down shooter.
