D-Day on the Amiga is one of those old-school war games where you feel like you're hunched over a giant paper map, pushing little letter tokens around—except here, the letters are on screen, and the map’s made of chunky pixels. You’re in charge of the whole Normandy invasion, moving battalions, tanks, and paratroopers across a grid, but the cool part is you can zoom into individual battles if you want to micromanage the chaos.

It’s turn-based, so you plot every move carefully—terrain matters, morale drops if you push too hard, and sometimes your generals just ignore you (which is frustratingly realistic). The graphics are barebones—mostly letters for units—but there’s something weirdly satisfying about watching your "A" (artillery) slowly wear down an enemy "I" (infantry) in a hedgerow. Just don’t expect flashy explosions.

If you’ve got patience for methodical, slightly janky strategy, this one’s a neat time capsule of early wargaming.
