Play Daiku no Gen San (Japan) Online
You're a construction worker swinging a massive hammer—smash coworkers, dodge pipes, and chuck wrenches at bosses while that weirdly perfect soundtrack plays. The jumps feel stiff at first, but once you nail the hammer timing, it's pure demolition therapy.

Daiku no Gen San (or Hammering Harry if you're playing the US version) is one of those weirdly satisfying NES beat 'em ups where you're just a construction worker swinging a giant hammer at everything. The controls are simple—walk left, walk right, and smash stuff—but there's something oddly therapeutic about clobbering rogue coworkers and tossing wrenches at bosses.
The first level throws you right into a half-built skyscraper with pipes to dodge and guys in hard hats lunging at you. I remember thinking the jump mechanics felt a little stiff at first, but once you get the timing down for hammer swings, it clicks. Also, the music is weirdly catchy for a game about workplace violence.
It's not deep, but sometimes you just want to hit things with a hammer.
