Game Overview
Dan Doh!! on the GBA is one of those weird little sports games that shouldn’t work but totally does. You’re basically a kid golfer who swings with enough force to send the ball into orbit—think less PGA Tour, more "what if Goku picked up a 9-iron instead of a power pole." The first time I pulled off a super shot and watched the ball zigzag through trees like it had a mind of its own, I was hooked.
It’s got that classic manga energy—rivals show up mid-game to trash talk, special moves have ridiculous names, and the courses get progressively more absurd (windmills? lava pits?). The sprite work is surprisingly crisp for a GBA title, and even though the mechanics are simple, nailing a perfect shot with all the spin and power boosts feels stupidly satisfying. Not gonna lie, I lost a few rounds just because I kept trying to style on the CPU with unnecessary trick shots.
If you’ve ever wanted a golf game where the final boss is basically a dude who defies physics, this is your jam.
