Play David Beckham Soccer (U)(Independent) Online
Take control of Beckham and lead England to victory by passing, sprinting, and scoring with curved shots and free kicks in this portable soccer match on Game Boy Advance.
David Beckham Soccer came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Rage Software. It was one of the many handheld sports titles trying to capture the feel of a full match on a small screen, arriving right in the middle of the GBA's lifespan when developers were still figuring out how to translate complex team sports into a portable format.
You control Beckham's national team, England, moving your players up the pitch with simple passes and sprints. The main goal is to score more goals than the opponent, of course, but the real focus is on set pieces and crossing. You aim for Beckham to get the ball in space, then use his signature curved shots and free kicks by holding a button to charge power and another to apply spin. The gameplay is fast, almost frantic, with a noticeable learning curve for timing those precise crosses. It feels like a stripped down, slightly janky version of football that somehow remains fun for quick sessions.
