Game Overview
Day of the Pharaoh on the Amiga is one of those weirdly addictive early '90s puzzle games that somehow makes stacking blocks feel like an actual adventure. You're basically clearing disks (or "pharaoh disks," I guess?) by matching colors, but the whole thing has this ancient Egyptian vibe with hieroglyphics and chunky pixel art that gives it way more personality than it probably needs.
The controls are simple—just move and drop—but the disks start piling up fast, and before long you're sweating over whether to match that blue pair now or wait for a bigger combo. The music’s got that classic Amiga synth sound, too, which either gets stuck in your head or makes you mute it after an hour—no in-between.
It’s not the deepest game, but there’s something satisfying about watching a tower collapse because you pulled the right disk at the last second. If you’ve got an Amiga emulator lying around, it’s a solid way to kill an afternoon.
