Play Deblock (Japan) Online
In Deblock, you control a cursor to pick up and drop colored blocks, matching four or more to clear the screen while planning your moves and managing the growing stack.
Deblock is a Japan only puzzle game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, released in 1990 by publisher Irem. It arrived late in the NES lifecycle, a time when developers were still finding new ways to challenge players within the system's familiar constraints.
You control a cursor that picks up and drops colored blocks from any of the four sides of the screen. The main objective is to clear the playfield by matching four or more blocks of the same color, but the twist is that you can only drop a block from the side you picked it up from. This forces you to constantly rotate your perspective and plan several moves ahead as the stack grows more precarious. The pacing is methodical at first but quickly becomes frantic as the blocks pile up. It feels like a constant, satisfying battle against your own spatial reasoning.
