Denki Blocks! came out for the Game Boy Color in 2001, developed by Denki. It was one of those clever little puzzle games that felt perfectly suited for the handheld, something you could pick up for a few minutes or get completely lost in during a long trip.
You control a cursor to slide colored blocks around each single screen puzzle, aiming to merge all blocks of the same color into one large block. The main mechanics involve planning your moves carefully, as sliding one block often shifts others in a chain reaction, and you can easily trap yourself if you don't think a few steps ahead. The difficulty ramps up steadily, introducing new obstacles and more complex color combinations that demand real spatial reasoning. It feels satisfying to finally click with a solution after staring at the screen for a while.
