Game Overview

Double Blocks was part of the 0 MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a compilation that brought together various simple but engaging titles from the early PC gaming era. The game was developed and published by an unknown or small team, typical of many shareware releases of the time. It fits right into that period when straightforward puzzle mechanics and clear objectives were enough to keep players focused for hours.

You control a paddle at the bottom of the screen, using it to bounce a ball upward and break layers of blocks. The main goal is to clear each screen of all blocks before time runs out. Key mechanics include angling your shots to hit specific bricks, managing the ball's speed and trajectory, and sometimes dealing with blocks that require multiple hits. The pacing starts relaxed but quickly becomes tense as the timer shrinks and the layouts grow more complex. It feels satisfying to watch the blocks disappear with each well placed shot, especially when you clear a stage with only seconds to spare.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
