Deuteros picks up where Millennium 2.2 left off, throwing you into a bleak future where Earth’s barely hanging on after some apocalyptic war. You start with almost nothing—just a handful of survivors and a desperate need to get off-planet. The first hour is all about triage: assigning people to research, production, or combat roles while scrambling to build your first rickety space shuttle.
The interface looks dated now (lots of static screens with chunky icons), but there’s something satisfying about the grind. Watching your orbital factory slowly take shape, then finally launching a ship to Mars or Jupiter—it feels like real progress. Later, you’ll automate mining drones and haulers, but early on, every mineral shipment back to Earth feels like a miracle.
No music, just eerie bleeps and bloops that somehow make the solitude of space even heavier. It’s not flashy, but if you like methodical strategy where every decision ripples forward, this one sticks with you.
