Deuteros - The Next Millennium picks up where Millennium 2.2 left off, but Earth's in rough shape now. You start with barely enough supplies to keep the lights on, and a handful of survivors who need training—some become researchers, others miners or marines. The first hour is all about scrambling: researching basic tech, scraping together materials, and praying your production team can cobble together a space shuttle before everything falls apart.

Once you get that shuttle up, things get interesting. You'll build orbital factories, then proper ships to reach distant planets. The real satisfaction comes from automating things later—watching your mining drones haul resources while you focus on colonizing Mars or fighting off... whatever's out there. The graphics are stark (mostly static screens with occasional flickers of animation), and the silence except for bleeps and bloops makes it feel like you're really alone in space. It's slow, methodical, and weirdly tense for a game where half the time you're just waiting for research to finish.

If you liked the first game, this one gives you more toys to play with—just don't expect flashy space battles. The challenge is in the logistics.
