You’re thrown into this grimy, pixelated Tokyo where everything’s gone to hell (literally), and your best shot at survival is talking monsters into joining your team. Yeah, talking to them. Sometimes they’ll help, sometimes they’ll demand your money or just laugh in your face. Classic demon behavior.
The dungeons are mazes straight out of an 80s hacker’s nightmare, all flickering lights and cryptic clues. And the fusion system? You can mash two demons together to make something stronger, which sounds awesome until you accidentally turn your best fighter into a weakling because you didn’t check the stats. Learned that the hard way.
It’s janky by today’s standards, but there’s something weirdly hypnotic about the atmosphere—like if a haunted arcade cabinet spat out an RPG. The music alone will stick in your head for days. If you’ve ever wondered where all those demon-collecting mechanics came from, this is the OG.
