Matches can be as short as 2 minutes or stretch to 20 if you want a proper battle, and there’s this weird but cool scanner thing that shows where everyone is—you can tweak it or just turn it off if it’s distracting. Passing feels oddly satisfying too, especially when you tweak the aftertouch mid-flight to curve a long ball perfectly.
Tournaments are where it shines, though. Full World Cup qualifiers, European Championships, or just making up your own weird league with renamed teams. And yeah, the players actually look like they’re from the countries they represent, which was rare back then. It’s janky in that classic Sega way, but once it clicks, it’s hard to put down.
