I picked up Disney's Lion King (Suxxors) (EU) for the Game Boy Advance around the time the handheld was still new. It was developed by Dark Technologies and published by THQ, one of those licensed platformers that tried to capture the movie's energy in a small cartridge. The GBA had a lot of these side scrolling adventures early on, and this one fit right in with its bright colors and straightforward action.
You control Simba through a series of side scrolling levels, jumping across platforms and swiping at enemies with your claws. The goal is to progress through each stage, from the Pride Lands to elephant graveyards, fighting hyenas and eventually Scar. You collect bugs for extra lives and occasionally trigger special attacks, like a fierce roar that stuns nearby foes. The pacing is brisk, though some jumps demand precise timing, and the enemy placements can feel cheap in later stages. It feels like a condensed, sometimes frustrating version of the movie's journey, with just enough charm to keep you pushing forward.
