I remember picking up Disney's Lion King for the Game Boy Advance back in 2002. It was developed by Digital Eclipse and published by THQ, one of those many licensed platformers that filled the handheld library at the time. The game tried to follow the movie's story, letting you play through key moments from Simba's journey, though it felt pretty typical for a GBA action title from that era.

You control Simba through a series of side-scrolling levels, jumping across platforms, swiping at enemies like hyenas with your claws, and occasionally roaring to stun opponents. The main goal is to progress through each stage, from the Pride Lands to the elephant graveyard, defeating bosses and moving the story forward. You collect bugs for extra lives and can earn continues by finding hidden collectibles, but the level design is often frustrating, with awkward jumps and repetitive enemy patterns. The pacing is uneven, and some sections feel unfairly difficult due to limited visibility on the small screen. Playing it feels like a constant struggle against the controls and level layout rather than an enjoyable adventure.
