Game Overview
Disney Sports Skateboarding is basically Tony Hawk meets Saturday morning cartoons—if Tony Hawk was Mickey Mouse doing backflips over a giant ice cream cone. You pick from Disney characters like Goofy (who somehow skates better than he walks) or Buzz Lightyear (yes, in full space ranger gear) and tear through these ridiculous levels full of rainbow rails, floating ramps, and way too many hidden Mickey shapes.
The controls are simple—tap a button to ollie, hold another to grind—but chaining tricks together without faceplanting takes practice. I kept wiping out with Donald Duck at first because I got greedy trying to spin too many times mid-air. The game knows it’s silly, though. Landing a big combo makes your character strike a goofy pose while fireworks explode, and the sound effects are straight out of a cartoon soundboard.
It’s not gonna replace your serious skate sims, but for a GBA game, it’s weirdly fun to see how each character moves differently. Woody from Toy Story has this stiff little kickflip, while Ariel (yep, that Ariel) does flips like she’s underwater. If you’ve got nostalgia for early 2000s Disney or just want something lighthearted to play in short bursts, this one’s a blast.
