Disney Sports: Skateboarding came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Konami. It was part of a wave of Disney branded sports games on the handheld, trying to tap into the extreme sports craze of the time. You could pick from a small roster of familiar characters, which was the main draw for a lot of kids with a GBA.
You control Mickey, Goofy, or Donald Duck through a series of linear levels, performing tricks to build up a high score before time runs out. The main objective is to complete each course while landing as many tricks as possible. Signature mechanics include grinding on rails and ledges, pulling off special moves like the 900, and collecting hidden Mickey symbols for extra points. The pacing is fairly quick, and the difficulty ramps up noticeably in later stages, demanding more precision with your jumps and grinds. It feels like a simplified but cheerful arcade skater that doesn't take itself too seriously.
