Disney Sports: Soccer came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, a Konami title that arrived during the handheld's peak. It was part of a small wave of Disney-branded sports games, a simple arcade take on the sport built for quick sessions on the go.

You pick a team of Disney characters, like Mickey, Donald, or Goofy, and play through a tournament or a single match. The main goal is to score more goals than the opposing team, of course, but the mechanics push it into pure silliness. Each character has a unique special shot, activated by holding the shoot button, that sends the ball flying with exaggerated effects; Donald's shot, for instance, is a high, looping knuckleball that's tough for any goalie to predict. You can also find power-ups on the field, like speed boots or a giant mallet that lets you knock opponents away from the ball. The pacing is frantic, the difficulty can spike unexpectedly against later CPU teams, and it generally feels like a cartoonish, chaotic scramble from kickoff to the final whistle.
