Play DJ Boy (Japan) Online
Skate through city streets, punch and kick enemies, grab weapons, and rescue your girlfriend in this beat 'em up adventure from 1990.
DJ Boy came out for the Sega Genesis in 1990, developed by Kaneko and published by Vic Tokai. It was one of those early beat 'em ups that tried something a little different, landing right in the middle of the console's growing library of action games.
You control a roller-skating hero who fights through city streets and other urban settings, clearing each screen of enemies before moving forward. The main goal is to rescue your girlfriend from a gang, using punches, kicks, and occasional special attacks. Two mechanics stand out: the ability to skate quickly through levels, and picking up temporary weapons like nunchucks or boomerangs. The pacing is fast, though the difficulty can spike unexpectedly with enemy swarms. It feels like a rough but energetic arcade experience that doesnโt take itself too seriously.
