Game Overview

Donk! The Samurai Duck! came out for the Amiga in 1993, developed by Eclipse Software and published by Black Legend. It was one of those platformers that felt right at home on the system, with colorful graphics and a straightforward premise that didn't try to overcomplicate things. You control Donk, a duck samurai armed with a katana, and your goal is to rescue your kidnapped girlfriend from an evil warlord.

You move through levels screen by screen, slashing enemies like armored frogs and dodging traps such as spikes and falling rocks. The combat is simple but responsive; you can jump and attack, and sometimes find power-ups like throwing stars or temporary invincibility. The levels are fairly linear but often hide secret areas with extra lives or health. The difficulty is moderate, with some tricky jumps and enemy patterns to learn, but it never feels unfair. Playing it gives you that satisfying, action-focused feel of early 90s platformers where timing and reflexes matter most.
