Door Door came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, published by Enix. It was part of that early wave of NES games, before the console really took off in the west, and it has a simple, almost experimental feel to it. You don't see many games like it now, but back then it was just another interesting idea on the shelf.

You control a small, round character named Chicky, and your only goal is to get to the exit on each single-screen stage. The main mechanic is using doors to trap the patrolling aliens; you open a door by walking up to it, and if an enemy is on the other side when it closes, they get locked away. But timing is everything, because if you're too slow, they'll just walk right through and start chasing you. The game is methodical and surprisingly tense, forcing you to watch enemy patterns and plan your moves carefully. It feels like a quiet, persistent puzzle where one mistake can undo everything.
