I picked up Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004. It was developed by Digital Eclipse, and it felt like a natural fit for the handheld at the time, when licensed platformers were common and often surprisingly decent. The game follows the story of the book pretty closely, with the Cat showing up on a rainy day and turning the house upside down.
You control either the Cat or the kids, moving through the house room by room. The main goal is to clean up the mess before mom gets home, which means collecting scattered objects and avoiding the chaos caused by Thing One and Thing Two. You use a vacuum to hover and reach high platforms, and you also ride a surfboard in some sections to glide over gaps. The pacing is brisk, with a fair amount of backtracking and some tricky jumps to manage. It feels like a straightforward, lighthearted platformer that captures the look of Dr. Seuss without overcomplicating things.
