You play as Christopher Belmont, an ancestor of the more famous Simon, tasked with defeating Dracula once again.
You move Christopher through side-scrolling stages, whipping enemies like zombies and bats while jumping across precarious gaps. Your main goal is to fight through six areas, each culminating in a boss, before reaching Dracula's castle. Key mechanics include collecting sub-weapons like the axe or holy water, which use hearts as ammunition, and destroying candles to replenish them.
